I hold the following opinion and am happy to have it challenged:
This is standard Orban propaganda and can be ignored.
The EU does not hold enough cards to ignore the threat of a 30% tarrif as it currently relies on the US for energy, with the only (immediate term) alternative being Russia.
It is incredibly sad to see the Americans blackmail a long-standing and key global ally. This will take generations to repair.
It is clear the EU was not aligned on how to proceed with these negotiations. Sometimes, aligning the interest of 27 states is difficult.
I think this just shows the lack of cards the EU has to play at this point in time.
So the iming of this seems absurdly off. Either they knew and are now being forced to act, or the investigation really took this long and the dude was just chilling on the beach unaware…
