Arguably the biggest contributor to the Linux ecosystem is Red Hat, a for-profit company that offers its technologies to the Israeli military among other things. The biggest contributor to the Linux kernel is Red Hat, while the second biggest is Meta. The Linux ecosystem is not inherently nonprofit!

This phone is probably aimed at countries where Whatsapp is legit mandatory if you want a social life and a job (e.g. much of Europe and South America)

The price is unfeasible lmao. You could get an old phone for like 50$ used, put lineage on it, don’t install any app or store and be done with it
Fedora still does it (and it uses btrfs subvolumes, so they’re resizable)

There are no lower or upper bounds for local LLMs. Just get the best GPU/RAM combo you can with your budget. Some laptops also have NPUs that are dedicated specifically to AI iirc

Modern 14" Thinkpads are already the golden balance of size and portability imo. I alrrady “actually carry” my laptop with me, thank you
May I ask why she’s moving away from Mac? And also what problems are you having with bottles?
As for the alternatives, OnlyOffice is really good at editing PDF files. It treats them like their own office format, on the same level as docx and ppt

I personally don’t see the benefit over regular Mint since it removes snaps anyways. And the newer software from Ubuntu is nice
