hated on the thing since I first spotted it and dismissed it, never to think about it again - doing everything wrong and then adding the shittiest of solutions, who’s gonna fall for that, right? but that thing is gaining and this post and recent threads just make me irrationally angry.
oh, the thing is also vibecoded. if you had any reservations about letting this idiocy loose on your data, there’s a relief, huh? head bozo detects ever-so-subtle AGI whilst slop-fondling and easily “verifies” 30K LoC that was shat out. stomach-churning shit.
not to mention, said bozo is doubling down on his fash idiocies. I wish I was making half of this up.
It litterally calls it self an “opinionated distro” thats so many red flags smashed together that it hurts.
I don’t like DHH
I don’t like or use OMARCHY
But don’t you think you help push this? I have not heard anything about omarchy for moths until your post.
I was wholly ignorant of its state and the recent developments regarding head bozo and thought a share of the above is in order. if you can find a single affirmative letter in my rant that somehow propagates the subject, bully for you.
any publicity is good publicity
That’s the problem here
Wasn’t that the one that Framework donated to? Or am I confusing it with Hyprland?
I don’t really have any problem with the thing by itself, I honestly don’t even know that much about it. I just hate everything that gains publicity just because there is a certain name behind it. Which is what happened with omarchy.
Didn’t know that it was AI slop as well. That’s kinda sad…
I use it and I love it. Sorry you are so angry. Hope you feel better soon
DHH doesn’t rub me the right way from the small glimpse i’ve seen, but I really enjoyed using Omarchy as someone who only joined the linux gang several years ago and never really understood the dotfile/config structure
mans, a popular man at that, just sharing his preferred setup. omarchy is just preconfigured arch and hyprland, btrfs and some chrome app containers and preconfigured. he’s pretty much onboarding a lot of mac users - especially the ones willing to use asahi, towards linux.
