The sides are open, why would it clog up?
Because mud will do what mud does and clog any opening smaller than a few inches wide?
It’ll get squeezed and/or flung out the next revolution of the wheel though
I can’t even clear up regular spokes fully by going 40kmh down a road because of the clay type mud we get.
That’s relying on air alone, the mud on your spokes doesn’t receive much if any additional shear forces.
