There are absolutely fan mods for that model. I used to have one modded because of the power supply fan is insanely loud when warming up

Dish soap and warm water will get rid of the fingerprint oil
The thingie with the stick didn’t work, so now we try the thingie with the carrot, lol
This would be my guess as well. Those spots where it isn’t sticking look like they might be where fingers have held the plate.
