NATO was the overt reason, EU was implied. NATO would offer security, but EU also does and economic prosperity on top of that.
The real reason is an imperialistic attitude that clings to the notion that Ukraine shouldn’t be an independent state.
Doesn’t this remind us of something? Hmm… what other state wanted to join the EU and faced thread and an hostile reaction by its oversized neighbor?
We need to stop taking grievance from trump and take it from Americans in general. The Americans are going to throw us all back to the dark ages.

Surprising would be if the laws were passed and not applied. This seems like just a government that works.
I think that says more about those companies management than anything else.
In some countries we’ve seen the most inefficient parts of our economy (public sector) able to do such a change. We’ve also seen the entire continent’s change its energy supply in a year.
I have zero doubts in a dynamic private company’s ability to do such a transition relatively unharmed. In fact they do this regularly, going from aws to azure, from azure to gcp, and so on. It just depends on who’s buttering up the CTO at the moment…
