Fucking hell I didn’t know they even went across different drives now. I’ll keep using promox then lol

Usually dual boot on the same drive is where things break.
Windows tends to play Pac-Man with other operating systems in those cases.
But either way happy you got it running and enjoy :)
Fucking hell.
Yeah and that’s why people are using cloudflare so much.
I was gonna say, refurbished hdds work perfectly for this. Now, I am kind of reaching that point where a NAS with multiple 20tb hdds is in order but generally you can get pretty far with hdds.
I settled on obsidian really quickly as well. And now sync thing + tailscale + obsidian means I am done experimenting and things just work.
Did both. Setting up your own VPN is a bit annoying but when it works it works. Tailscale is really easy and solid. For folder syncing I can recommend using tailscale and syncthing. Install both on both devices, then connect the devices in sync thing (it will reciprocate) and then you can add a folder and share it with the other device. Latency for syncing can be 10s-3min, plus the actual file transfer speed.
Knowledge level: configuring software and setting up software. Maybe some basic network troubleshooting if it comes up.
It’s never gonna be as easy as paying for a service that does it for you but this setup is also not that hard.
If you have questions feel free to ask me or other nerds on here, I’m sure they can help you ^^~
Not a Linux nerd but just to make sure you checked the basics: did you verify integrity of the OS image? Are you able to verify your USB, memory and HDD all work in isolation?
My first hunch on this is hardware issue, because you get hard shutdowns from what I can gather. I could be wrong though, I only install OS occasionally.
Yeah this looks like animatediff at 360p from 2022.
It’s good, but it’s also really bad quality by now. As if you released a Nintendo Wii now. It’s good, but damn does suck for the current hardware available.
It might take a while, but when your PC is working on it you are not and searching for words might be easier ^^
I’m excited to hear how well it works ^^
Long videos or voice notes where you’re usually just looking for a small snippet.
That sound really a hard to do.
Basically you have to formulate the right responses that this device is looking for when it is communicating over the Internet.
My only idea is maybe you can capture the device’s request and response using Wireshark and then use a dummy server to fire the same response s back to the device inside your vlan l. You’d also need to set a DNS to reroute the traffic properly. If the device is using encryption layers that’s basically impossible iirc.
Basically you are looking to set up your own very basic mitm for that device.
