So I’ve been noticing a few of my recent prints had some under extrusion around the z seam leaving indents that look like tearing. After basic troubleshooting I come to find that the issue is in the slicer. Could somone help me figure out what settings I need to change? Changing the z seam type doesn’t really help, it just seems like cura is refusing to close the seam and would rather my prints have a fissor on them.
Preasure advance too high?
That or a
wall wipe distance
maybe? It’s been ages since I’ve used cura though…
Here’s how it looks on a print auto focus wouldn’t let me get a clear shot btw
If you’ve got a magnifying glass, your phone will be able to autofocus much closer if you put the magnifying glass between the camera and the object.
I feel like, at this point, there’s little use in using Cura other than mere familiarity at this point. My understanding is even OrcaSlicer’s algorithms tend to produce better prints with extremely similar settings.
Hope you find the solution in Cura, but have you considered Orca at all?
Check your “coasting” settings - if it’s turned on, try turning it off or reducing the value since it can cause exactly those fisures at the z-seam when set too aggressively.
