That was the explanation they used when being openly racist was not socially acceptable. We are way past that.

At least one media outlet that calls this out as bizarre. Meanwhile others are just paraphrasing the Annoying Orange’s deranged ramblings as if they were something a normal person would say.

How many wars are “8 wars PLUS”? Can he count beyond 8?

And seriously, is this all aboul that Nobel Prize? Is he throwing a hissy fit just because he couldn’t win it?

America, you better do something with your senile president, because your reputation was already low before him but right now you are just drilling into the ground to find if rock-bottom is truly the bottom.

is this all aboul that Nobel Prize?

He’s pissed he didn’t get it. But if he had gotten it, he would have found another “reason” to throw a tantrum. And it wouldn’t help Greenland, as long as some of the filthy rich people have an interest in it - “freedom cities” where they can live their liberitarian dreams.

He’s pissed because Obama got one. We can’t forget that one (of many other) foundational reasons for Trump to run for president was because Obama mocked him at a dinner party. And if Obama was a 2-term president with a Nobel Prize, Trump wants to outdo him. Purely because Trump is a man child racist

Isn’t it obvious? If those filthy norwegians would have given him the prize, he wouldn’t have any reasons to think of war.

I think it’s obvious, he can’t be a peace president withowt the peace prize.

“Look what they are going to make me do! It’s all your fault that I’m gonna use violence against you!”. Trump, probably.

What concerns me is that with all these letters, statements and actions (and with America 250 coming up), it is becoming very difficult to imagine that he would back down. The situation is dire.

It’s a beautiful letter, literally every sentence is factually incorrect, and once he runs out of wrong things to say, he ends it. *Chefs kiss*

This is the kind of petty logic you’d expect from a schoolchild.

It also reveals something chilling about his power-oriented world view: In Trump’s mind, there is no such thing as an ‘independent committee’ that the Norwegian government might defer to regarding who gets the nobel peace price. He presumes that of course any government could seize the authority to influence who gets the price, so the Norwegian government’s obvious decision not to intervene in Trump’s favour is implicitly seen as a decision against Trump. In Trump’s mind, there are no rules and there is no such thing as a pluralistic society that practices self-restraint and shares power.

It’s the lack of respect. “Dear Jonas…” Not, “Dear Prime Minister”, or “Dear Sir…” He’d lose his s**t if he was just referred to as “Dear Donald”

Compare with Jefferson’s letter to Adams on the matter of the Barbary states …

    https://founders.archives.gov/documents/Jefferson/01-10-02-0058

Our instructions relative to the Barbary states having required us to proceed by way of negotiation to obtain their peace, it became our duty to do this to the best of our power. Whatever might be our private opinions, they were to be suppressed, and the line marked out to us, was to be followed. It has been so honestly, and zealously.

These are the reasons which have influenced my judgment on this question. I give them to you to shew you that I am imposed on by a semblance of reason at least, and not with an expectation of their changing your opinion. You have viewed the subject, I am sure in all it’s bearings. You have weighed both questions with all their circumstances. You make the result different from what I do. The same facts impress us differently. This is enough to make me suspect an error in my process of reasoning tho’ I am not able to detect it.

Trump writes - and thinks! - like a young and petulant schoolchild in comparison with Jefferson.

Some people know, either because they are good analysists or because they are close to power. How can we make their voices be heard?

The people who know are either paying for this to happen or being paid by the former to make this happen.

What happened in that country was a coup. But instead of one in which they throw the frog into boiling water, they threw the froo into lukewarm water and are heating it slowly.

I’m worried that if the people don’t maket this burst into an insurrection (that might very well end in civil war), they’ll get a christofascist state by the end of the year.

Some billionaires - obviously, but all billionaires? How does the US plan to stay number one if Europe, like Canada, has to cooperate with China to balance the power of the US? The China containment strategy or even a war against China can’t work like that.
